Maltese honors women of distinction

Senator Serphin Maltese recently honored nine “Women of Distinction” in his Senate District at a special reception.
This year’s honorees included Arlene Annunziata, Woodhaven; Tanya Broschart, Middle Village; Heidi Harrison Chain, Forest Hills; Roberta Maureau, Middle Village; Children’s Advocate Rosalba Maistoru; Latinos Americanos Unidos member Leonelda Perez; Terri Saporita, Howard Beach; Frances M. Schmidt, Sunnyside; and Gloria Schwalbach Seitz, Middle Village.
“There are so many talented, dedicated and hardworking women in Queens County, and we often take for granted their contributions,” said Maltese. “This program gives us the opportunity to acknowledge and thank them for their countless contributions and sacrifices.”
All of the winners received a special certificate and proclamation from Senator Maltese at a breakfast at Christ the King High School. In addition, the Senator awarded “Maltese Medals” to two outstanding seniors at Christ the King High School, Francesca Kruk and Helena Mannarino.
