Bakery closed by fire above

Coffee lovers who frequent Martha’s Country Bakery will have to wait, as the shop will most likely be closed for one or two weeks following a fire on the second floor.

The incident happened on Sunday, July 25. According to fire officials, they got the call at 6:34 p.m. and were on the scene, at 41-06 Bell Boulevard, two minutes later. They had the blaze under control by 7:10 p.m. Two firefighters were hurt with heat-related injuries.
