The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center (JPAFHC) and the Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula (JCCRP) have announced a new partnership to expand access to healthcare and social services for residents of the Rockaway Peninsula.
As of Tuesday, April 22, JPAFHC staff are stationed daily at the JCCRP’s Far Rockaway location at 1525 Central Ave., offering on-site support for individuals seeking medical appointments, health insurance enrollment and access to critical services such as the WIC program and the New York State of Health Marketplace.
The partnership ensures that individuals already visiting the JCCRP for food pantry services or social support can now directly connect with healthcare professionals, eliminating logistical hurdles and helping underserved families access vital care without leaving their neighborhood.
“Our shared commitment to advancing health equity and addressing social determinants of health makes this partnership with JCCRP especially meaningful,” said Renee Hastick-Motes, CEO of JPAFHC. “By bringing our services directly into the heart of the community, we are removing barriers to care and creating more opportunities for families to live healthier, more secure lives.”
For the JCCRP, which has served as a cornerstone for food, housing and social service support in the Rockaways for over 50 years, the collaboration marks a significant step forward in its ability to meet clients where they are.
“We have had a relationship with Addabbo for decades, referring clients to each other, and we are excited to now be able to have their critical services be even more accessible,” said Allison Deal, Executive Director of the JCCRP. “We hope more people will be aware that services such as WIC and the NYS Health Marketplace are offered right here in Far Rockaway at no cost.”
