‘Annie’ has joined In Michael’s Hair Design

The big news on the Queens beauty scene is that Annie, a specialist in Brazilian Keratin Treatment and Japanese Magic Straightening, has left Manhattan and is now practicing her craft at In Michael’s Hair Design, 254-17 Northern Boulevard in Little Neck.

After 10 years of perfecting the world’s most powerful straightening technique at Oz, a salon in the Koreatown section of midtown, Annie wanted to bring her mastery to a wider audience – and her kids to everything Queens has to offer – so it was time to say, “We aren’t in Manhattan anymore.”

As more curly-haired “Westerners” came to her shop, Annie realized that it was time to bring these powerful hair-straightening techniques to the quintessential American audience in the world’s most diverse place – Queens.

From the time she was 20 years old, Annie has been working hard to both perfect Japanese Magic Straightening – which was virtually unknown here 10 years ago – and reduce the risk of hair breakage.

To protect her clients and their locks, Annie insists on doing a hair strand test for breakage before doing the treatment, and an expert consultation on whether the process is right for the client or not.

The process usually takes more than three hours and can last from four to six months. Annie offers touch-ups for when the hair grows out.

Annie is also highly proficient with the Brazilian Keratin Treatment.

This process is perfect for someone whose hair is curly but may not stand up to the other process. This treatment calms “the fuzzies” and leaves hair straight yet silky, and shiny with no damage.

In addition, the keratin in the treatment is good for damaged hair, supplementing your natural hair keratin, both inside and out.

The treatment usually takes about an hour-and-a-half and lasts for three months or more.

As a highly-knowledgeable hair designer, Annie will alter the treatment to suit the individual’s hair condition and curliness, and for seriously damaged hair, she’ll offer treatment at no extra charge.

She wants everyone to know that even though they’re offering rock-bottom prices on the treatments, there’s no cutting in the quality of the materials or the service – in these tough times, they want to keep them affordable.

You can find Annie and the answer to your hair prayers at In Michael’s Hair Design, 254-17 Northern Boulevard in Little Neck. They’re open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call 917-856-6197 for more information.
