A 56-year-old woman who was found unconscious inside Queens Central Booking in Kew Gardens on Wednesday morning has died, police announced.

The woman was discovered inside a holding facility at 125-01 Queens Blvd. at 8:05 a.m. on April 5. Paramedics rushed her to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A source familiar with the investigation said the woman was in NYPD custody at the time and had yet to appear in court. The NYPD and the Department of Corrections both have facilities at Queens Central Booking.

The woman’s identity was withheld by police; the NYPD did not immediately provide information as to why she was being held there.

Her body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The NYPD Force Investigation Division is conducting an inquiry.
