A new ice cream store is coming to Bayside – just in time for summer.

Snowdays, which offers a tantalizing spin on ice cream, is expected to open at 42-28 Bell Blvd. this month.

Snowdays NYC specializes in shaved cream (not shaved ice) – a light, fluffy version of ice cream made up of fewer calories with a different texture than ice cream served at traditional ice cream parlors.

According to the city Department of Buildings website, job #440482407, dated 5/14/2018, approved a permit to renovate the entire existing retail store (formerly an AT&T location) into a Snowdays ice cream store.

The dessert shop will also offer vegan and gluten-free options, as well as coffee and espresso from coffee company Intelligentsia and even its own hot chocolate menu. Matcha Brownies will be among the shop’s most sought-after baked goods.

Snowdays’ website also lists Bayside as one of its two “coming soon”locations, along with operating ice cream shops in Forest Hills (72-24 Austin St.), East Village, West Village and Park Slope. Bayside will be the company’s fifth location and the first Snowdays franchise store.

“Bell Boulevard is a primary thoroughfare with numerous restaurants and retailers – and this option presented a great opportunity,” said Joe Robinson, senior director of Eastern Consolidated, who discovered the location and negotiated the deal.

Robinson said current construction of the 850-square-foot site will conclude within the next week, and that the store should officially open in the early part of July. He also disclosed that the deal is a 10-year lease for Snowdays.

Additionally, he said he is looking to put more Snowdays franchise store locations in Staten Island, New Jersey and Florida.

Michelle Abramov of commercial real estate agency AssetCRG represented the landlord in this transaction.

Snowdays NYC founder Tony Quach could not be happier about the company’s expansion into Bayside.

“Bell Boulevard is a great market with great people and a terrific selection of restaurants – and it’s one of the best retail strips in all of Queens,” said Quach, who started the company in 2014. “And what do people usually want to do after they have dinner? They want dessert. We are very excited to be a part of this retail strip and the Bayside community.”

Quach mentioned the strip’s restaurants, Taverna Kyclades and Bare Burger, as one of the main factors in the company’s decision to expand to Bayside.

Snowdays, which was named a Breakout Brand 2018 by Nation’s Restaurant News, is currently planning the opening of another location in Los Angeles.
