El Correo NY, QNS and The Queens Courier co-hosted its second bilingual Facebook live candidate forum in Bayside, which featured the three candidates running for state assembly in District 39. The district includes the Corona, Jackson Heights and Elmhurst neighborhoods.

This week’s candidate forum was between current Assemblywoman Ari Espinal — who assumed the seat in April following a special election in which she ran unopposed — and candidates Catalina Cruz and Yonel Letellier Sosa.

During the 90-minute forum, the three candidates were asked several questions in both English and Spanish and provided their responses to the questions in both languages. In case you missed the live broadcast of the debate on the Queens Courier or El Correo Facebook pages, check it out down below.

The Democratic primary between Espinal, Cruz and Sosa is on Thursday, Sept. 13 this year. Those registered as Democrats are eligible to cast their votes in the primary. The winner of the primary will move on to the Tuesday, Nov. 6 general elections.
