Man comes up empty handed in attempted robbery of 14-year-old boy in Briarwood: NYPD

Police are searching for the man who attempted to rob a 14-year-old boy in Briarwood last month.

Police say the suspect approached the teen in front of 141-40 84th Dr. just after 11 p.m. on Jan. 24. The man the demanded the teen hand over his property before sifting through the boy’s pockets and fleeing in an unknown direction without having taken anything, according to authorities.

The teen was not injured during the incident.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect on Feb. 7.
