At the successful tree giveaway were Lions Bill Bart, Barbara Leonardi, Alfonso Duarte, Tony Meloni, Adam Lombardi, John Scandalios, 1st VP Donald Frain, President Paul Vallone, Lionel Morales, Devon O’Connor, and New York Restoration Project representative Mike Mitchell (not pictured: Angelo and Ann Graci, Owners of A&S Whitestone Nursery).

Northeast Queens will soon be a little more green.

The Bayside–Whitestone Lions Club sponsored its first ever tree giveaway on Saturday, April 28 at A&S Nursery in Whitestone. In partnership with New York Restoration Project and Million Trees NYC, the Lions distributed over 100 trees to local residents. The event was so successful that Club President Paul Vallone promised to double the number of trees available for next year’s event.

Next up for the Bayside–Whitestone Lions Club is the First Annual Scholarship Dinner at Verdi’s in Whitestone. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call 718-428-7285.
