Mark Sanchez volunteered in Far Rockaway yesterday, serving meals to those in need.

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez went from passing footballs on Thanksgiving to passing out hot meals in the Rockaways yesterday.

Sanchez joined City Harvest to serve dinner to 300 Rockaway residents affected by Sandy at P.S. 215 last night and distributed pantry bags.  The food was provided Dinosaur BBQ.

“The most important thing is to make sure people have a hot meal in times like this around Thanksgiving and the holidays, especially after the tragedy of Sandy. So we’re just doing our best to give back,” Sanchez told NY1.

The Rockaways have seen a parade of celebrities lend a hand since the storm.  Steve Buscemi, John Legend, Amar’e Stoudemire, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are among the famous face that have helped out.
