The School Construction Authority is building three schools on the Creedmoor Campus and there are three elements to the proposed plan that need to be completed before construction can begin, a spokesman for the city SCA said.
The first element, according to Deacy, was to award the contract to a school design firm, which would determine and plan the best way to use the proposed site.
The SCA recently awarded the contract to Indianapolis-based Scanning Howey, a reputable school design firm.
Deacy said the plan calls for building a 650-seat elementary school to be used by School District 26 in northeast Queens, a 900-seat intermediate school for School District 29 in southeast Queens and a 1,000-seat high school.
