Crime falls by 11.3% in 102 Pct.

Despite a steep spike in the number of murders in the 102nd Precinct last year, residents of Richmond Hill, Kew Gardens, Woodhaven and Ozone Park were still safer than they were in 1998, authorities said.

Overall crime dropped by 11.3 percent, with all major crime categories showing decreases except for homicides and rapes in 1999, preliminary statistics from the Police Department showed.
