Hidden behind a wrought-iron fence, surrounded by trees and sitting just across the street from the main Creedmoor Psychiatric Hospital building is the Lifeline Center for Child Development, a non-profit day treatment center and special education school for seriously disturbed children.
Lifeline, located at 80-09 Winchester Blvd. in Queens Village on a three-acre section of Creedmoor, has been helping seriously disturbed children since 1959. The treatment center has 65 preschool children ages 2 to 5 and 110 children between the ages of 5 to 16, from all over the city.
