The city Board of Standards and Appeals granted a zoning variance Tuesday to the developers of a proposed motel on Jamaica Avenue, allowing them to restart construction after entering into a lease agreement with the Howard Johnson hotel chain.
Pasquale Pacifico, executive director of the BSA, said permits were granted to brothers Jitendra Bhatt and Bharat Bhatt of Farmingdale, L.I., and that he would release a certified resolution this week explaining why the petition was granted.
