As the New York Hall of Science in Flushing unveiled its new web site, TryScience.org, last Thursday morning in its Great Hall, children from nearby Louis Armstrong Middle School, IS 227 were treated to being among the first to get to explore the new site, which had gone on line less than an hour earlier.
Technology for the website, which took two years to complete, was supplied by IBM. The Association of Science-Technology Centers, an international, nonprofit organization, is the main organizer of the site which serves as an Internet portal linking more than 425 science centers and museums, in 42 different countries, on the World Wide Web.
