Queens Borough President Claire Shulman has appealed to the City Council for help in fighting a major increase in flights at LaGuardia airport, warning that hundreds more planes would bring not only more noise but long delays that could drive away business travelers.
Shulman spearheaded the filing by the city of a lawsuit in federal court June 13 demanding a survey of the environmental impact of as many as 600 additional daily flights out of LaGuardia before the new flights are approved.
