Thousands are expected at Laurelton street fair

Merrick Boulevard, the main thoroughfare in Laurelton, will be transformed into a pedestrian mall Saturday for the Fifth Annual Laurelton Day Family Street Festival.

The event, organized by the Federated Blocks of Laurelton, will take place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. between 225th Street and Francis Lewis Boulevard, an area of six blocks, said Leo Byam, the president of the group.
