Queen of Peace PeeWee basketball team defeated St. Kevin’s, 29-14, on Sunday to advance to the area finals. Queen of Peace again came out aggressively and jumped out to 8-0 lead and never looked back. Queen of Peace held a 13-4 halftime lead thanks to a defense that was swarming forcing St. Kevin’s to have difficulty getting open shots.
Queen of Peace was also solid on offense with a balanced scoring attack, as eight of nine players scored. Dennis Cottoled the way with six points, Jamal Vargas and Jonathan Malblonado added five points each, David Leavy had four points and Doug Huartes, Joey Solimando contributed two points.
