The Queen of Peace PeeWee team defeated St. Margaret’s, 8-0, for its second shutout in as many games. Doug Hurtares was sparkling on the mound, as he hurled a complete-game shutout and yielded only two harmless singles, while striking out 11 hitters. Nicholas Melidosian, Joey Solimando and David Leavy led the hitting assault by combining for five extra base hits and five RBIs.
On Sunday, the Wildcats had two games. In game one they defeated St. Kevin’s, 16-2. Queen of Peace broke the game open in the second inning by sending 14 batters to the plate and scoring 10 runs in the inning. Teo Ramirez was the hitting star this game with his bases-clearing double in the inning. Jamal Vargas also had a big game by reaching and driving in four runs. With the win, Queen of peace went to 3-0 in CYO.
Later that day the Wildcats played their first QJBA game against St. Aldabert’s, winning 16-7. The team banged out 14 hits in the game. Anthony Lowell had a key triple to start the ball rolling and also made a great play at when Aldabert’s had the bases loaded and trailed by three runs.
