Modell’s White Sox defeat Nick and Maggies Braves
What it looked like a long day for the Modell’s White Sox on Tuesday evening it became a walk in the park for the first place team in the Glen Oaks Little League international division winning by the score of 17-5.
After a shaky start by White Sox starter Scott Gandasegui, Joey Caraballo came to rescue and stopped the Braves to improve to 7-0.
The Braves jumped on Gandasagui in the first inning, scoring five runs with timely hitting and good base running.
Caraballo came in the second and pitched the rest of the game giving the opposition no liberties. He did not allow any uns or hits and struck out nine and walked three batters. Caraballo now has 109 strikeouts in 38 and 1/3 innings.
The White Sox scored two runs in the second to make it 5-3 with the help of Justin Namit who hit a triple to open the inning Robert Cassistre with a RBI and Joey Caraballo with a RBI single.
In the third inning the White Sox broke the game open, going around the bases six times on a couple of walks, RBI-double by Justin Namit, infield hit by Cassistre and a two run double by Carballo.
Behind the excellent pitching of Joey Caraballo the White Sox never looked back and posted their 10th victory in 12 games this season.
For the Modell's White Sox, Justin Namit hit for the cycle, collecting a single in the fourth and a home run in the fifth. Cassistre had two hits and a RBI, and Joey Caraballo contributed with a 3-for-4 performance with two singles a double and 4 RBIs.
It was another. strong outing for the White Sox who gets closer and closer to the regular season title and be the favorite to win the championship.
