To The Point: Andrew’s Army ready to march in the Point

By Sabina Cardali

Welcome to the Point. The Point being College Point.

The heat continues although the summer is coming to a close. The children will be starting to return to school and the schedule begins to take shape, as the teachers begin to formulate their plans for their new classes.

A very Happy Birthday to Frank Mashevsky, to Frank Leonardo, and to Erin Hanlon.

Speedy recovery to Bill White, Bryan O’Hara, Ralph Mele, Tony & Mary Bocchio, Florence Pellettieri and Florence Zanio.

Condolences to the families of Joseph Ryan, Margie Fascigone, and Renato Segnini.

For the first time in four years, Webelo Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 18 went to summer camp. Just returning from Camp Keowa at Ten Mile River were Andrew Mulvey, Will Rennie, Austin Guerrero, Bryan Bravo, James Murphy, James Sfachios, Christian LaPointe, Jonathan Guzman, Casey Knight and Dan Murphy.

The boys successfully completed a week filled with various scouting activities that prepared them for joining Boy Scouts next year. Accompanying the boys were their Den Leaders: Lionel Guerrero, Anne Marie Murphy and Cathy Mulvey.

Any boy starting first grade in September is welcome to join Cub Scout Pack 18 as a Tiger Cub. A waiting list is available for grades 2 to 4. Leader positions are open. Call Cathy Mulvey at 359-1468 for more information.

Anyone needing more information or would like to walk or contribute, contact Cathy Mulvey at 359-1468.

SABINA SAYS:

There is nothing more wonderful than spending time with your grandchildren. My grandchildren Eric and Brian spent a month in New York seeing Lion King, cruise around New York Harbor, Hall of Science, Flushing Zoo, every movie for children, Cole Circus. Brian celebrated his birthday with a bakery one. The children ate and then decorated cookies and cakes.
