Orangemen defeat Wildcats, 55-50, in Junior League action

Pathmark Stores Orangemen 55, Ashlar Mechanical Wildacts 50. In an outstanding game that went down to the wire, the Orangemen beat the Wildcats, 55-5,0 behind Thomas Hubany’s 21 points. Aaron Mitrani added 16 and Andrew Pagnozzi scored six. Sean Redican also had six points and Josh King three for the winners. The Wildcats got 24 from James Motlu, nine from Erik Papandrea and five each from Dominick Abbate and Steve Neftaly.

Marino Bros. Huskies 55, MacDonald’s of Bayside Bruins 48. The Huskies nipped the Bruins, 55-48, behind Aaron Seabag’s 25 points with David Chung and Jason Minella adding seven each. Greg Kronberg had six and Joe Kronberg five. The Bruins had 15 points from Chris Velazco and 12 big Mike Atzlan. Giovanni Tavares had seven and Brian O’Connell and Dan Chapli added three each.

DePhillips Sports Wolverines 53, Goldstein and Greenlaw Tar Heels 52. In an exciting game that came down to a last second shot. The Wolverines just got by the Tar Heels. Evan Last scored 18 points for the winners, followed by Joe Brent with 10, Martin Dushaj with eight and Robbie Hetzron added five. The Tar Heels got a 25-point effort from Paul Lavoie, 12 by Max Reznick and nine from B.J. Schrettner.

Stabile and Stabile Red Storm 61, Color Carton Blue Devils 53. The Red Storm defeated the Blue Devils behind Ricky Honya’s 25 points and Matt DeMatteis’ six. For the Blue Devils, Justin Yaeger got in 22 points with Adam Masoud and Anthony Terio adding seven each. Angelo Castanos had nine.

MacDonald’s of Bayside Bruins 84, Utopia Family Chiropractic Cardinal 62. The Bruins rolled over the Cardinal behind Chris Velazco’s 28 points and Mike Atzlan’s 24. Giovanni Tavares and Jeremy Lubin had eight each. The Cardinal had a 24-point game from Dan Sackett and Tony Vitiglio.

Color Carton Blue Devils 47, Ashler Mechanical Wildcats 45. The Blue Devils upset the Wildats led by Justin Yaeger with 18 points. Angelo Castanos added 13 and Adam Masoud 10. The Wildcats had a 13 point effort from Domenick Abbate, 10 each by Steve Naftaly and Erick Pappandrea and Alex Kalinkos and Scott Ventimiglia added six each.
