Registration for the Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth Little League 2002 season will take place at its clubhouse, located at 80-17 78th Ave., Glendale, on the following dates:
Friday, Jan. 25 (7 to 9 p.m.)
Saturday, Jan. 26 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Friday, Feb. 1 (7 to 9 p.m.)
Saturday, Feb. 2 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
There will also be sign ups and registration for the Senior Division (ages 13 to 17). The registration fee for this year is $50 (except the Instructional Division, which is $40) for the first child and $35.00 for any additional children. Each child must take $50.00 in raffle tickets. All fees must be paid at registration time.
The registration fee includes the cost for the uniform shirts and caps. The gray uniform pants are not included and must be purchased separately by the parents. The pants must be worn to all games. The gray uniform pants are a league rule and all players are required to wear them. The pants will be available at the Sports Stop sports store on Metropolitan Ave. Any player not wearing gray pants will not be permitted to play. All new players to the league must live in the RGMVM LL boundaries. The boundaries are defined by the following Zip Codes: 11227, 11385, 11379, and 11378.
All parents are required to donate three hours of their time to work detail. The work detail can be done before the season starts or during the season. Also by working on the grounds on Wednesday night, Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon. Working in the concession stand during the season can also fulfill the work detail requirement. Managers are exempted from work detail. Coaches are not exempted from work detail. This is the only way to keep registration costs down. A work detail of three hours is not too much to ask to have your child play in such outstanding facilities. You will not find any finer baseball / softball facilities anywhere.
The above dates are the only dates for registration. Please be advised that failure to register on the above dates will result in your child/children being placed on a waiting list. Should you have any questions, call the clubhouse at 821-4487 on registration dates only.
