Western Beef played a fine all-around game, beating Lexicon Construction, 14-5. Anthony Gismundi led the way for Western Beef, pitching three scoreless innings, while Eric Breidbart pitched a strong fourth inning before being removed in the fifth. Mike Formato closed out the game for Western Beef, pitching a strong fifth inning to preserve the victory. Tommy Regan and Vinny Depperman contributed clutch hitting for Western Beef, while Mark McClean had a nice bases-clearing triple for Lexicon Construction.
Dr. Eddy Ferriera, D.D.S. beat Millco Taping, 6-0, in a well-played game by both teams. Steven Foley continued his strong pitching by throwing three scoreless innings for Dr. Ferriera. Anthony Brnjac also contributed with a strong pitching performance in shutting down a tough Millco Taping team.
First inning hits by David Legaz, Patrick Berndt and Manuel Barcena ignited a six-run rally that propelled Re-Max International to a 17-11 defeat of previously unbeaten Cristom Construction. With T.J. DeVito holding Re-Max in check after the first, Cristom chipped away at the lead until the third inning when two RBIs by Shane Lowery tied the game at 7-7. Re-Max came alive, however, and rallied for five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, behind RBIs from Patrick Thompson, D.J. Rooney, George Theofonis and Ediz Serman. Kenny Lehr came in to pitch the last two innings for Re-Max to secure the victory.
