A former employee at a veterans’ hospital in St. Albans pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his supervisor after a dispute in August 2000, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
The defendant, Steven Robinson, 42, of 115-27 114th Rd. in St. Albans admitted to killing Elizabeth Parker before Justice Robert Hanophy in State Supreme Court in Kew Gardens Tuesday, Brown said. Hanophy indicated he would sentence Robinson to 20 years in prison when he returns to court on Oct. 16.
Robinson told the court he shot Parker inside her office at the New York State Veterans’ Home at 178-50 Linden Blvd. The two had argued earlier that day, Brown said. Robinson left the nursing home and returned later and shot Parker, Brown said.
“I hope that the defendant’s plea of guilty and the certainty of a long prison sentence brings a measure of solace to the Parker family,” Brown said.
