Mark Satterwhite did not single-handily beat the Bryant Owls, it just seemed that way. The junior tailback for the Long Island City Bulldogs was the main weapon for head coach Doric Capsis, racking up 186 yards of 15 carries, including two touchdowns, but even those numbers underscore how dominant Satterwhite was Saturday afternoon at Flushing Memorial Field.
Satterwhite ran at will, ripping off long gain after long gain, including a 31-yard run to set up teammate Marc Perez’s first touchdown run in the third quarter and another 36-yard run to set up Perez’s second TD later in the period.
Holy Cross quarterback Dan Meara ran for two one-yard touchdowns in his team’s win 21-7 over Cardinal Hayes…Campus Magnet running back Courtney Jones had a pair of touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 21-6 win over Far Rockaway…Christ the King’s Tonna Egbuchunam and Filippo Rappa and St. John’s Prep’s Sebastian Garcia each registered a hat trick in league games Monday…Cardozo’s Ahmed Hassan scored twice in a 3-1 win over Molloy and netted another goal in the Judges’ league-opening win over Forest Hills Monday.
