A Hollis man driving through St. Albans was shot twice in the head last Thursday after he stopped his car to argue with someone he knew, police said.
Carlos Holm, 26, died at Mary Immaculate Hospital after the 4 p.m. shooting at the corner of 191st Street and 116th Avenue, police said.
Holm, whose exact address was unknown, was driving on 116th Avenue when he recognized a person walking on the sidewalk, said Detective Kevin Koenderman of the 113th Precinct. Holm pulled a U-turn, got out of his car began fighting with the person, who has not been identified, Koenderman said. The person shot at Holm three times, striking him twice, he said.
No arrests had been made and the 113th Precinct was continuing its investigation, police said.
Holm had a past criminal record, which included arrests for drug charges, Koenderman said.
“You live by the sword, you die by the sword,” Koenderman said.
