FLUSHING — A 46-year-old California businessman was stabbed to death early Tuesday morning in Flushing, police said.
Zong Wang of Daly City was stabbed at about 2:54 a.m. in front of 35-05 Farrington St. and rushed to New York Hospital Medical Center Queens, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police were looking for two suspects in their teens or 20s, police said.
Wang had just left a Flushing nightclub with his fiancee and was walking to his Mercedes, the New York Post reported.
One of the two men slashed at Wang’s legs and waist with a meat cleaver, the paper said.
Police said they knew of no motive for the crime. Police were investigating.
3 hospitalized after GCP crash, conditions critical
KEW GARDENS — Three people were taken to New York Hospital Medical Center Queens in critical condition early Sunday morning after their car crashed on the Grand Central Parkway, police said.
The car struck a cement barrier at Union Turnpike while traveling northbound on the highway at 1:49 a.m., police said. The driver and two passengers were ejected from the car and were rushed to the hospital, police said.
Police were investigating.
Kissena Blvd. resident found dead in front of building
FLUSHING — A 76-year-old man was found dead in front of his apartment building Monday afternoon, police said.
The man, who lived on the 10th floor of 43-44 Kissena Blvd., was found in front of a building by a passerby about 2 p.m., police said.
Police were investigating.
2 suspects rob livery cab driver in Springfield Gardens
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — A livery cab driver was robbed by two men in their 20s who he had picked up early Saturday, police said.
The 26-year-old driver was dispatched to 161-31 Mathias Rd. at 12:30 a.m., where he picked up two men who asked to be taken to the intersection of Rockaway Boulevard and Farmers Boulevard, police said.
Upon arriving, one assailant pulled a gun, then they handcuffed the victim and ordered him into the trunk, police said.
The driver was dropped off at the corner of 111th Avenue and 166th Street after the suspects took his wallet, police said.
The car was found at 4 a.m. Saturday within the 113th Precinct, police said.
The driver was not injured. Police made no arrests and were investigating.
Cops capture two suspects in Jamaica restaurant robbery
JAMAICA — Police arrested two men after an armed robbery of a Jamaica Avenue restaurant Sunday night, authorities said.
Police arrived at the Lacorena Restaurant at 178-23 Jamaica Ave. following a report of a robbery of the restaurant, police said.
The officers spotted three men in their 20s, one armed with a shotgun, and pursued them, police said.
Two of the men, Carlos Hector, 22, of 107-10 154th St. and Sherwin Gittens, 25, of 134-15 166th Place were arrested in a rear yard adjacent to the restaurant, police said.
The two men carried $639 in cash and a shotgun with ammunition and were charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Police were still searching for the third suspect and were investigating.
Rosedale man shot dead at business near his home
ROSEDALE — A 54-year-old man was found shot dead in an extermination business just a block from his home, police said.
The man was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head Saturday at about 1 p.m. inside Inter County Pest Control at 246-10 Francis Lewis Blvd., police said. A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
The man, who lived around the corner on 247th Street, was friendly with the owner of the business, a local businessman said.
Police were investigating.
Briarwood man dies in crash on Cross Bay Boulevard
BROAD CHANNEL — A Briarwood man was killed while driving on Cross Bay Boulevard on Jan. 8, police said.
Stephen Koskovolis, 34, of 85-19 161st St. died in a crash at about 5 p.m. when his 2002 Jeep traveling northbound hit a pole 200 yards south of the North Channel Bridge, police said.
Unidentified man shot in head at Richmond Hill location
RICHMOND HILL — A 52-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his head on Jan. 7, police said.
The man was discovered inside 101-38 115th St., police said.
No arrests were announced. Police were investigating.
Armed man robs Elmhurst Citibank, flees with cash
ELMHURST — A Citibank was robbed Tuesday afternoon by a man wielding a handgun and wearing a construction vest, police said.
The suspect entered the Citibank at 87-11 Queens Blvd. at about 1:18 p.m., flashed his gun and handed the teller a note demanding money, police said.
The man fled with an undetermined amount of money.
No one was injured. Police made no arrests and were investigating.
Chase Bank in Forest Hills robbed of unknown amount
FOREST HILLS — A man robbed a Chase Bank Saturday by passing a note to a teller demanding money, police said.
The Chase Bank at 107-36 71st Ave. was robbed of an undetermined amount of money, police said.
No arrests were made and police were investigating.
Teen beaten with blunt object Tuesday afternoon in Ridgewood
RIDGEWOOD — A 15-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit with a blunt object in a fight Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The teenager got into a dispute with two other males at Cypress Avenue and George Street at about 2:52 p.m., police said.
The 15-year-old was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center in critical condition, police said.
A 14-year-old was arrested a short time later in connection with the incident, police said.
