Open call to artists

Rockaway Artists Alliance members and non-members are invited to submit slides/photos of artwork to be juried for the exhibition: “Destinations,” with the theme of travels to foreign and not-so-foreign places.

The submission deadline is Feb. 27, for slides and/or photos, only. The exhibit will run March 22-April 27 with an opening reception March 23.

Artworks can be of various media including, but not limited to: Original paintings, limited edition prints, photographs, jewelry, sculpture (provide your own pedestals), pottery, ceramics and stained glass. Only artworks that were not in previous RAA exhibitions will be accepted.

Please include in submission: Up to five slides/photos of the works being submitted for inclusion placed in a slide sheet/envelope and labeled with slide/photo number, artist’s name, medium, title of work, size and price. A corresponding slide/photo list sheet must accompany this submission. The sheet should include any specific installation requirements. There should also be an artist statement, biography/resume.

Artwork can be dropped off at sTudio 6, Fort Tilden on March 9, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or March 10, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Hanging fee per artist is $20 for members, $25 for non-members.

Works on paper must be securely framed with wires across the back for hanging. The works must be framed under glass.

Submitted photographs of work may be used for publicity purposes.

Those submitting will be asked to sit in the gallery one day during the run of the exhibition.
