Giannoukakis’ game-winner lifts Owls over Pioneers. 4-3

Stacy Giannoukakis certainly knows how to celebrate a hat trick in style.

The junior on the Bryant girls’ soccer team netted the golden goal two minutes into overtime on an assist from Dilek Bekdimir (two assists) to lift the Owls to a 4-3 win over Newtown Monday afternoon.

For a while it looked like Alba Carrasquero would be the hero of this match, as the senior striker scored a pair of late goals to tie the game at 3 for Newtown (2-4 Queens A), which trailed 2-0 at halftime.

But Giannoukakis, who also had an assist, netted the game-winner — her seventh goal of the year — as Bryant improved to 10-2, 6-2 in Queens A. Aleksan Kuta also scored for the Owls.

Francis Lewis 4, Bayside 1. Jessica Molina scored two goals, Caroline Verna and Vanessa Molina added one apiece and Nesima Bal made seven saves for Francis Lewis (7-2, 6-1 Queens A).

Forest Hills 2, Long Island City 0. Kamila Barnes netted her 11th goal of the year and assisted on Tiffany Thompson's goal for Forest Hills (5-1-1 Queens B-II).

Townsend Harris 8, Flushing 0. Kathy Dubowski scored four goals, Maria Paschalidis had a goal and three assists, Stacey Christofordis added a goal and two assists and Jessica Heatherington had a goal and an assist for Townsend Harris (8-1, 6-1 Queens A).

Cardozo 2, Francis Lewis 0. Patricia Sotirakis and Catherine Yim scored second-half goals for first-place Cardozo (6-0 Queens A).

Townsend Harris 5, Bryant 0. Dubowski scored three goals, Paschalidis had a goal and two assists and Andi Strauss added a goal and an assist for the Hawks.

Arts and Business 6, Beach Channel 1. Jaquely Roche had two goals and two assists, and Angie Villamarin and Elisa Diaz scored a goal apiece for Arts and Business (4-1-2 Queens B-II).

Forest Hills 6, Robert F. Wagner 3. Barnes had a hat trick and Olga Driker, Eun Hea Kim and Caroline Sierra scored one goal apiece for the Rangers.
