Pony League

In their first game of the season, the Dodgers were able to come from behind and defeat St. Robert’s, 5-4.

The offense was led Lenny Saputo, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. St. Robert’s put up a tough fight and threatened to score winning runs in the last inning, but a great defensive play by shortstop Pete Conti and good pitching from Patrick Benini helped to secure the win for the Dodgers.

In the Dodgers’ second game, Dean Dimitropolous pitched three perfect innings and set the tone for the Dodgers victory against the Heroes. The offense was led by Eric Sgambati, who went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs, Justin Giryluk had three hits and an RBI and Corey Oral had two hits and 2 RBIs. The Dodgers’ outstanding defense was led by Patrick, Benny, Vinny La Penta and Matt Mione.

Texas League

Prudential L.I. Realty Yankees 13, St. Anastasia No. 3 7. The Yankee offense put on a hitting show led by the big bats of Jun Yoo (three hits, double) James Ortega (two hits, 3 RBIs) Aaron Geffen (two hits, 3 RBIs) Tyler Ruiz (three hits, triple), Corey Still and Alex Ligas.
