LaGuardia Airport has for the second time in three years won first place for excellence in food and beverage from an airports association competition.
LaGuardia’s central terminal took top prize for best food and beverage among the Large Airport division in the Airports Council International-North America Excellence in Airport Concessions judging.
LaGuardia competed against more than 20 airports in North America, including Boston, Portland, Ore., Toronto and Vancouver.
It was the latest in a series of major awards for LaGuardia Airport. Earlier this year, Figs restaurant in LaGuardia’s central terminal building received top honors for Best Airport Food and Beverage Operator in the Airport Revenue News Best Concessions annual competition.
LaGuardia, like John F. Kennedy International Airport, is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a financially self-supported semi-public agency that receives no tax revenue.
