ELMHURST — Police believe one rape and two attempted rapes in Elmhurst may have been perpetrated by a single assailant.
In the first incident, in the area of Baxter Street, a 13-year-old girl was raped by a man who threatened her with a knife just after 10 p.m. April 18, police said.
Ten days later, a 60-year-old woman was attacked as she was entering her Gleane Street apartment when a man threatened her with a broken glass bottle about 4:20 p.m. He fled when she screamed, police said.
Ten minutes later, on the same day, a 13-year-old girl reported a man followed her into her building, and grabbed her throat, police said. He dragged her to the roof stairwell where he attempted to rape her. He fled when she began to fight back.

WOODSIDE — Police were seeking information on a man with Alzheimer’s who was reported missing from his Woodside home Monday.
Luis Gallegos, 63, of 41-45 52nd St., was described as 5-foot-7 and 180 lbs. He was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Monday wearing blue jeans, a puffy coat and white sneakers, as well as a medical alert bracelet bearing the number 99751674, police said.

ASTORIA — A 14-year-old boy who stepped into the street between two parked cars was killed last Thursday when he was struck by a passing car, police said.
Jose Nunez, of 21-47 43rd St. was hit by a 1996 Lincoln in front of 22-64 Steinway St. about 10:30 p.m. last Thursday, police said. The car was heading north on Steinway Street.
Nunez was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Lincoln was not charged in the death, police said.
MASPETH — A man robbed a Chase Bank of $600 by passing a note to a teller Friday, police said.
The man entered the bank, at 66-02 Grand Ave. about 2:30 p.m. Friday, police said. He did not display a weapon and no injuries were reported, police said. The investigation was continuing.
ELMHURST — An Elmhurst man died after officers responded to a complaint of an emotionally disturbed person at his home, police said.
Robert Lafaye, 22, of 41-35 Gleane St., was acting very strangely when police arrived at his apartment after 10 p.m. Saturday, police said. Lafaye was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, but he died about an hour later, police said.
Details on Lafaye’s cause of death and his erratic behavior were unavailable.
JACKSON HEIGHTS — A 24-year-old woman was found dead on the roof of a garage below her sixth-floor apartment in Jackson Heights last Thursday, police said.
Johanna Tamayo, of 72nd Street, was discovered about 5:40 a.m. last Thursday, police said. No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing.
LONG ISLAND CITY — A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death during a dispute on Vernon Boulevard last Thursday, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, was stabbed in the neck outside 40-16 Vernon Blvd. about 7 p.m. last Thursday, police said.
The incident was classified a homicide, but no arrests were made.
ARVERNE — Police are searching for a man in his 30s in connection with three reports of rape in a single day, all along Almeda Avenue.
In the separate incidents, the man approached three women and began conversations with them before dragging them to isolated areas, such as a trash compactor room, where he raped and sodomized the women. In each case, the man fled with the women’s money, police said.
The attacks all occurred on April 26 at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m.and 10:30 a.m.
The rapist is described as a black man in his 30s, 5-foot-7, 250 lbs., with short hair, police said.
BELLE HARBOR — A Rockaway man was arrested Friday on charges he held up a Cross County Bank earlier that day, police said.
Paul Fitzgerald, 30, of 109 Oceanside Ave., allegedly robbed the bank at 455 Beach 129th St. by passing a note to the teller, police said. Fitzgerald allegedly fled with $4,000, but was stopped by police, who arrested him without further incident, according to the police report.
He was charged with robbery, grand larceny and possession of stolen property, police said.
FAR ROCKAWAY — A Far Rockaway man was arrested on charges he raped and sodomized a 26-year-old woman in Brooklyn last month, police said.
Santiago Lugo, 41, of 333 Beach 32nd St., allegedly forced the woman into his car, where he sexually abused her at about 3 p.m. April 29, police said. He was charged with rape and sodomy, police said.
ROCKAWAY — A 39-year-old man was shot and killed in front of 7-15 Shore Front Parkway Friday, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, was shot once in the chest and was taken to Peninsula Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Police were still investigating the motive behind the shooting, and no one was arrested.
OZONE PARK — An Ozone Park man was arrested in Brooklyn on charges he shot a man in the leg during a dispute Monday, police said.
Cliff Burke, 22, of 81st Street, got into a fight with a man outside 958 Atlantic Ave. just after 1 a.m. Monday, police said. The other man, 37, was shot in the leg as a part of the dispute, police said. Burke was charged with assault, police said.
FLUSHING — A 16-year-old was stabbed outside of a McDonald’s restaurant in downtown Flushing Monday afternoon, police said.
The teen was walking with his friends at about 3:30 p.m. when he was stabbed in the chest and the groin area by a group of three other teen-agers in Lippman Plaza, located off Roosevelt Avenue, police said.
The victim was taken to New York Hospital Medical Center Queens in stable condition, police said.
Police made no arrests and were investigating.
COLLEGE POINT — A College Point maintenance worker was killed when he fell down an elevator shaft at a work site in Brooklyn, police said.
Juan Febus, 59, of 15-28 123rd St. was found dead about 10:20 p.m. April 29, police said.
Officers were continuing the investigation.
BAYSIDE – Two drivers and a passenger were sent to New York Hospital Medical Center Queens with minor injuries after two cars collided at 48th Avenue and Bell Boulevard last Thursday, police said.
The cause of the accident was still under investigation, but witnesses said one of the cars may have run a red light at the intersection, according to Officer Raul Espinet of the 111th Precinct.
