French concert pianist Bertrand Giraud, who has performed all over the world, will visit Queensborough Community College on Tuesday at 11 a.m. for free concert that is open to the public. He will present Franz Liszt’s “Three Petrarch Sonnets
The discussion will also touch on a recent recording project that he has developed with Kutnowski, whose own composition, “Lullaby for an Ancient Grandfather,” was performed earlier this year at Carnegie Hall.
Giraud, a graduate from both the National Conservatories of Paris and Geneva, is a soloist prize winner of international competitions in different countries, the 1996 and 1997 Chopin International Competition held in Texas, the 1995 Flame Competition in Paris, and the 2000 Miloz Magin competition in Italy.
Giraud has played a diverse repertoire and with numerous partners in many countries such as France, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, United States, Argentina, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan.
His presentation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 144 of the Humanities Building on the Queensborough campus.
