Police Blotter: One killed, two hurt in collision at Richmond Hill intersection

RICHMOND HILL — A 38-year-old man was killed and two others were injured when their cars collided at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 115th Street in Richmond Hill just after midnight Sunday, police said.

A 2004 Subaru was traveling east on Jamaica Avenue at 12:01 a.m. Sunday when it struck a 1998 Chevrolet traveling north on 115th Street, police said. The driver of the Subaru was taken to Queens Hospital Center and pronounced dead, although details on his injuries were not released. The passenger in the Subaru and the driver of the Chevrolet were treated for minor injuries at Jamaica Hospital, and both were listed in stable condition, the police said.

The identities of the victims were not released.

Officers were continuing the investigation, but no criminality was suspected, police said.

St. Albans bodega employee shot in robbery of store

ST. ALBANS — An employee at a St. Albans bodega was in critical condition after he was shot by a man trying to rob the store Saturday night, police said.

Two men entered the store at 204th Street and Linden Boulevard about 9:20 p.m. and demanded money. One of the men, who was carrying a gun, shot a 36-year-old worker, who was not identified, once in the stomach, police said. It was unclear if the shooting was the result of a dispute.

The robbers fled the store with an unknown amount of loot, while the victim was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing.

Ridgewood man found dead, cause under investigation

RIDGEWOOD — A 58-year-old man was found dead inside his Ridgewood home Friday afternoon, police said.

A family member found Bisram Issri, 58, of 1816 Himrod St. dead about 2:30 p.m. Friday, police said. The city medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.

No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing, police said.

56-year-old man found dead at Woodside 7 train platform

WOODSIDE — A 56-year-old man was found unconscious lying on the platform of the Roosevelt Avenue station of the No. 7 train Sunday, police said.

Adolfo Lim, 56, of 41-19 53rd St. was pronounced dead after officers responded to the scene about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. There were no signs of trauma, and the medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.

No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing, police said.

Flushing man charged with attempting to bribe police

BAYSIDE — A Flushing man was arrested on charges he tried to bribe two police officers into letting a Rego Park man off the hook for drunk driving last Thursday, police said.

Two officers from the 111th Precinct stopped a car with a defective brake light near the corner of Northern Boulevard and 205th Street about 1:20 a.m. last Thursday, police said. The driver, Tommy Park, 31, of 61-25 97th St. in Rego Park, was arrested on drunk driving charges, police said.

As the officer was arresting Park, the passenger in the car, Tae Jung Kim, 32, of 29-18 163rd St. in Flushing, allegedly offered the cops $220 to let Park go, police said. Kim was arrested and charged with bribery, police said.

Richmond Hill, Whitestone men cited for illegal dumping

MANHATTAN — The Department of Sanitation’s Citywide Illegal Dumping Task Force impounded three vehicles in Queens involved in illegal dumping in December, a Department of Sanitation press release said

Chattram Sarju, of 94-11 109th St. in Richmond Hill, was fined for dumping 10 tires at 97-49 102nd St.; Panday Gangaram, of 114-47 117th St. in Richmond Hill, was cited for disposing of rock and gravel at 127-15 92nd Ave.; and Michael Daviotis, of 12-10 148th St. in Whitestone, was fined for dumping wood, sheet rock and paint cans at 8-29 Astoria Blvd., according to the Department of Sanitation.

Their cars were impounded and the owners face fines ranging from $1,500 to $20,000, the release said.

Man shot in foot at Elmhurst intersection

ELMHURST — A 29-year-old man was shot once in his left foot about 7 p.m. Jan. 27, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was shot at the intersection of 82nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting were unclear, police said.

The man was treated and released from Elmhurst Hospital Center.

No arrests were made and the investigation was continuing, police said.

Woman found dead in Astoria home

ASTORIA — A 26-year-old woman was found dead in her Astoria home about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, polices said.

Diane Gonzales, 26, of 25-34 Crescent St., was found dead by a relative , and the medical examiner was to determine her cause of death, police said.

The investigation was continuing.

Suspicious fire guts house on College Point Boulevard

COLLEGE POINT – A two-alarm fire Tuesday night gutted a vacant 2 1/2 story house on 45-41 College Point Blvd., Fire Department officials said.

The fire was being treated as suspicious and police took a suspect into custody the night of the fire, a chief on the scene said.

The chief said the fire began on the first floor before spreading. No one was inside at the time because the house was boarded up, he said.

While firefighters hosed down the fire, the chief said a brick apartment building still under construction next door had its basement fill with water. He said the basement was subsequently pumped out.

Neither the police nor the FDNY had any information about the suspect. The fire was under investigation.
