The Our Lady of the Snows boys’ Cadet baseball team has gotten off to a fast start this season by winning its first four games. The boys defeated Mount Carmel on opening day, 11-10; St. Stan’s, 10-1; St. Cecelia’s, 7-3; and Mount Carmel aga
So far Snows has displayed a wealth of pitching, using six different players. Frank Sadicario continues to be the ace of the staff, earning a win and a save over the first four games.
In 11 1/3 innings Frank has given up seven hits, walked two and struck out 22 while only allowing five runs.
Jason Sophie earned a win by throwing five strong innings, allowing one run on two hits while walking five and striking out 11.
Chris Viso has a win and a save, going 6 1/3 innings. Chris has allowed two hits and struck out eight.
Ray Potestio has a win, going three innings, allowing one run and striking out six. Jay Hausdorf has thrown one scoreless inning with two K’s and Kevin Salcedo has pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up no runs and striking out 1.
At the plate the team has spread out the offense with someone different coming up big in each game so far. Brian Biscotti leads the team in on-base percentage at .545, with Joey Caraballo a close second at .500.
Jonathan Dupuy leads the team with three stolen bases, while Brian Kelleher, Anthony Langone and Anthony Kelly have all driven in two runs. Anthony Meo has added a triple to the team’s offensive output.
The boys appear ready to have a strong season, following a season in which they lost in the Diocesan Championship game.
