The Big “A” Fair with more than 100 rides, games and free attractions will be held at Aqueduct Racetrack over four weeks, June 25 to July 18
The fair will include more than 25 free daily shows featuring: Circus Hollywood, which will astonish crowds with death defying motorcycle daredevils; high-flying aerial performers; Miss Stevana’s performing poodles; The Royal Friesian Horse Show; Pasquali the clown; and many other performances.
Young and old alike will be enjoy the illusions performed by master magician Lance Gifford. His show includes “metamorphosis,” once performed by the late Harry Houdini.
Things are going to get a little wild at this year’s fair with the first-time appearance of the “Beast Master.” Tiger expert and trainer Vincent Von Duke will take command of seven big cats, including four 450-pound Bengal tigers and a pride of African lions. The show also features a rare an exotic white tiger. This educational and entertaining act showcases the strength, beauty and mystique of these powerful jungle creatures.
Other free attractions include the Girrafic Park Petting Zoo with exotic animals from around the globe including a family of giraffes, a kangaroo, monkeys, Scottish bulls, African zebus, South American llamas, and several other creatures from around the world.
No trip to the fair would be complete without the world famous Hollywood Pig Racers, which compete several times daily with greased lightning speed.
The Big “A” Fair is held at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park. Fair gates open to the public weekdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and July 5 at 1 p.m. The fair can be reached by public transportation and is wheelchair-accessible.
