Dog Mauls Boy In Bayside

A 7-year-old boy from Astoria was mauled this past Sunday while visiting his sister’s house in Bayside.
Yoseph Noori suffered extensive abrasions to his face and head and was rushed by ambulance to New York Hospital of Queens. He was released that same day after receiving 100 stitches near his lip and left ear.
“I think it’s ridiculous that people are unable to care for their animals properly,” said Bayside resident Josh Zuckerberg. “It is the owners responsibility to make certain their pets are safe and not at risk of harming anyone.”
Noori, a first grader at P.S. 122 was playing in his sister Toor’s backyard at her house on 203rd Street in Bayside. The seemingly friendly dog wandered into Toor Noori’s yard and jumped on Yoseph biting his cheek. After tearing himself away from the dog’s vicious grip, Yoseph remained on the ground bleeding.
When police arrived, the dog, a 3-year-old Husky named Pokdol, lingered around the scene and was sedated and sent to the Center for Animal Control and Care.
The dog reportedly belongs to an apologetic neighbor, Hyun Oh, who was issued three summonses — one for the dog being unlicensed, one for an animal creating a nuisance and one for the dog not being on a leash.
