Armed with a realistic-looking police badge and a lot of guile, a group of devious teenage toughs – including two young girls – robbed and terrorized a 95-year-old wheelchair-bound man and his wife inside the couple’s Brighton Beach apartment, officials said. On Friday, cops began distributing pictures of the six suspects that was taken by an elevator surveillance camera inside the victim’s building on Brighton 1st Road just after the robbery. Sources said that at least one of the suspects was “mugging for the camera.” The victim told police that four of the suspects – three males and a female – knocked on the 11th floor apartment door at 12:05 a.m. on December 3, claiming to be police officers. When asked to see some identification, the suspects held up their badge to the keyhole. Falling for the charade, the seniors unwittingly let the suspects in and found themselves surrounded. While displaying no weapons, the four suspects – described as white – threatened and menaced the seniors as they went through the place, looking for valuables. The hooligans fled with some of the victim’s cash, leaving the couple unharmed. Investigators from the 60th Precinct recently announced their search for the six suspects.
