Man shot in head, dumped in Ozone Park

Police found the body of an unidentified male who had been shot in the head and dumped on 78th Street and Dumont Avenue in Ozone Park on Monday, November 13. Officers of the 106th Precinct had been called to the scene on a report from neighbors of an unconscious male.
Residents said that the body, which had been left on the side of the desolate, weed-strewn, waterlogged roadway, was that of a white male whom none recognized.
Several people said that the victim’s hands and feet had been bound together, possibly with duct tape, and that the thumb and pinky finger of one hand appeared to have been cut off and his wrist sliced open.
His pants were also partially pulled down, they said.
The man had been stuffed into a black plastic bag from which his legs were poking out, according to Kester Baptist, who lives across the road from where the body was discovered.
&#8220I saw something that looks like a body, I thought it was garbage at first,” said Baptist, who immediately thought it was a discarded mannequin. &#8220But when does garbage have boots on?”
A pool of blood approximately two-feet wide soaked the dirt at the spot.
At press time, the police said that the case was under investigation.
