Let me tell you something. It is hard to write a weekly column, especially when you try to focus in on local sports and keep it extremely Bronx specific.
I would love to write a whole commentary about why Mark McGwire deserved to be voted into the Hall of Fame. I feel he took supplements that were not illegal at the time of their intake and did nothing to tarnish the game. His home run race with Sammy Sosa captivated an audience and probably did more good for baseball than bad. Suddenly, people have turned against him because of this whole steroid scandal and it annoys me a little, but not enough to take up the whole column
