Citing empty storefronts and a general lack of organization, leaders of the Morris Park Community Association are inviting local shop owners to their clubhouse on Tuesday, January 9, to discuss creating a new merchants association.
The vast Morris Park commercial district, composed of hundreds of stores and restaurants on Morris Park Avenue and Williamsbridge Road, has had no stable organization to lure new businesses, petition elected officials, or organize holiday events since the demise of the Morris Park Local Development Corp. in 2005, MPCA president Frank Agovino said.
