FLASHING YELLOW LIGHT NOT GOOD ENOUGH; PIERCE AVE. RESIDENTS SAY

For years, residents near the corner of Pierce and Lurting avenues have called their intersection hazardous, unsuccessfully demanding that the Department of Transportation replace the current flashing yellow light with an all-way stop sign.

Finally, thanks to a request from Community Board 11, DOT spokesman Chris Gilbride confirmed a study is being conducted at the intersection, with an expected completion date in April. A typical study can take up to 12 weeks.
