Police said Levy Montague of 137-59 71st Ave. was driving in a 2003 Lincoln along Northern Boulevard near the intersection of Prince Street when he struck a 2007 Dodge Sedan and careened into a school bus taking children home from school. According to authorities, the Dodge sedan and school bus were stopped at a red light at the time of the crash. Montague was taken to New York Hospital Queens, where he was pronounced dead just after 4:45 p.m, about an hour after the crash occurred. Police said no children were reported injured in the crash. Members of Montague's family could not be reached for comment. Police said the man was licensed, no criminality was suspected and no summons were issued at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing. The accident was the third in Queens involving a school bus in the last month. Last week, a school bus carrying a group of adults collided with a car at a Jamaica intersection, killing the driver of the bus and injuring seven others. Two weeks earlier, a school bus crashed in Fresh Meadows, injuring several students, though none seriously.
