Firefighter In Fracas

A Brooklyn firefighter responded to a different kind of emergency in Howard Beach when he allegedly hit a friend’s romantic rival numerous times with a shovel.
Harry Pfeiffer, 27, accompanied a friend, Nicola Ciaramella, to the 90th Street residence of Ronald Buonagura, 31, on Friday, March 16.
According to reports, Buonagura had been feuding with one of Pfeiffer’s friends over a female.
Buonagura reported being struck repeatedly across his neck, face and hands with a shovel. Pfeiffer suffered two knife wounds in the torso and Ciaramella was slashed several times in the body. Both were treated at Jamaica Hospital and are expected to recover.
District Attorney Richard A. Brown’s office said Pfeiffer and Ciaramella face arraignment on charges of harassment in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and assault in the second degree. Buonagura was also hit with similar charges.
