Every Friday in July and August, residents will be able to get a taste of various cultures during “Passport Fridays: International Outdoor Film, Dance and Music Series,” which is being presented by the Queens Museum of Art and American Express.
The program, which is in its third year, will kickoff on July 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will include a screening of the film “Quinceanera” from Mexico, a dance performance by Ballet Folklorico and a music performance by Mariachi Real de Mexico.
Other countries that will be represented throughout the summer are Brazil, Colombia, India, Africa, China, Tunisia, and Korea.
All events will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Queens Museum of Art, which is located in the New York City Building in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
Support is also being given by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, Independence Community Foundation, MetroPlus Health Plan and Elmhurst Hospital.
