Bell Boulevard Pharmacy treats customers like family

Nowadays local neighborhood pharmacies are in competition with giant drug store conglomerates but Bell Boulevard Pharmacy still manages to serve its customers and do the job it set out to do in 1989.
A pharmacy has been in the same location there for over 50 years, but Joe Mangini has owned it since May 1, 1989. In that 18-year span, he has been able to make his small family-type store the final stop for some customers needing treatment and a place that provides the best service possible.
“We specialize in treating people decently,” Mangini said. “We pride ourselves on filling prescriptions accurately and quickly and help [customers] resolve any questions or problems.”
Mangini said his personal relationship with customers allows his business to stand out compared to any other pharmacy.
“We treat them like family,” he said.
Mangini started working at a pharmacy when he was 14-years-old and knew he would spend his life working with medicine and people. From his days delivering orders, working at a hospital and working with encouraging bosses, he developed many of the tools he uses today.
One is the ability to make compounds if someone needs a specific prescription. At retail drug stores, they are much less likely to do that because of the large amount of prescriptions to fill and customer needs to meet on a daily basis.
Bell Boulevard Pharmacy, which offers free delivery, is located at 47-48 Bell Boulevard in Bayside. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
