Just days after the formation of a new coalition to fight the saturation of social service institutions in Westchester Square, residents received good news that efforts to bring a proposed drug treatment center to the area have been abandoned.
Despite an announcement, in November 2007, that plans to bring a drug treatment facility to 2950 Frisby Avenue were scrapped, it only became official on December 11, that Freedom Associates abandoned the project after hearing that OASIS had questions about some irregularities in their application.
