Help is on the way for victims of the 5-alarm fire that tore through close to 12 businesses on the White Plains Road shopping strip on February 4.
On Wednesday, February 13, city officials and local business leaders attended a meeting at the Bronx Central Council for Economic Development on Lydig Avenue to help the victims get back on their feet and explore their financial and legal options.
Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera and Vincent Pinella, executive director of the BCCED, joined together to anchor the process, facilitating its progression by reaching out to city agencies and organizations that offer services to the small business owner.
City agencies in attendance included ACCION, the Bronx Business Solutions Center, the Office of Emergency Management, Small Business Solutions and the Legal Aid Society.
