FAR ROCKAWAY An early morning blaze sent 20 people to the hospital when it ripped through a three-story home on Loretta Road, fire officials said.
The fire was first reported at 4:36 a.m. and soon warranted a second alarm as units found flames on all three floors, fire officials said. Some 16 civilians and four firefighters were injured in the blaze, though none had life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Peninsula Hospital and St. John's Rockaways Hospital, the FDNY said. The fire was brought under control at 5:49 a.m.
